Musser Park has hopes and accomplishments for 2008 and 2009
Many improvements have been made in Musser Park. 2008 was a GREAT year! All of the walkways were resurfaced with asphalt. The grass "bowl" was graded and seeded. The wood chips in the playground area were replaced and a rubberized surface was installed. New playground equipment was added. The old yellow lamp posts were replaces with 15 new decorative black posts with white globe lights. Up-lighting and down-lighting was added to the tree area. Six new benches were installed. The "overlook" area has new seating and two chess tables. Flower beds were added between the overlook and the bowl. The other new flower bed was added along the East end of Chestnut Street.
Thanks to the fundraising efforts of Tom Bergen the improvements were made possible through the support of many donors, both individuals and businesses in the City of Lancaster.
Our hopes for 2009
Our hopes for 2009 include additional improvements to Musser Park. Planting colorful flowers in the beds along Chestnut Street. Complete the install of 11 new steel benches. Install additional trash receptacles. Repair or replace any items that require maintenance. Trim trees and shrubs and weed flower beds. Color stain the benches in the playground area. Repoint the stone walls.
These park improvements will be +/- $100,000. Your support is greatly appreciated. Musser Park is a 501C3 tax exempt organization.
